Snapshot tool lost functionality

With recent updates, we have found that the snapshot tool has lost certain functionality.

Previously, when our staff would use the tool, it would hilight the area blue, and from there we can zoom/adjust as necessary to get the exact screenshot we were looking for. The zooming was critical as it would maintain a high resolution when copy and pasting.

Now, the tool automatically copies to the clipboard after highlighting with no ability to adjust the highlighted area like previously before. Now when zooming in and trying to screenshot, they are incredibly low resolution, even after adjusting the snapshot PPI in the settings. This is the same case when switching to the “old” version of Acrobat.

Please bring back the functionality or at least an option to enable it, it is a CRITICAL part of our workflow that has been taken away with no warning or alternative provided.

    Hi Exigent329120552xj6,

We appreciate your patience so far.

You can now print from the modern snapshot tool. Please refer to the information provided in the following help document on how you can use the print option in the modern snapshot experience: Unable to print selected area using the snapshot tool.

If you would prefer to revert to the legacy snapshot tool that supports direct printing on Windows, please follow these steps (Also mentioned in the help article under the Note section):

    • In Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences
    • Under the General category, unmark the option “Open snapshot for markup”.
    • Click on the Ok button at the bottom of the preferences window to save the changes.

Let us know if the information helps.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi
