Hello . . .

Sometimes text selection not possible, not accurate, not usable. Why ? How to solve?

Sometimes I have to work on PDF files.

Up until a year ago, with Acrobat Pro XI, editing text never gave any problems: I could select it and edit it as I liked, always with success.

Then the office I work for changed the version, currently Acrobat DC is used. The consequence was that for many files editing is impossible: the selection of a letter, a word, a sentence or a paragraph is often impossible: it extends over a large part of the page sometimes in the shape of a cut egg, sometimes in the shape of a large rectangle. In both cases, a large portion of text that is not editable is included.
---

I well remember that when I opened an image with text in Acrobat XI Pro, the conversion started immediately and automatically, after the conversion every word of the text that was previously part of an image became immediately and totally editable. Not with Acrobat DC anymore. Moreover, if I manually start the text recognition with the "Scan and OCR" function, nothing changes!

There is a solution: export to PNG with high resolution, and, with the numerous ways Acrobat offers, I open the image, or import it, or create it from a file.

Unfortunately, however, since this solution takes time, it cannot be used routinely for each document to be modified.

Is there a professional solution to the problem or is it an unchangeable feature of Acrobat DC?

Greetings.

J.K.

I've found some posts with the same subject, they all complain: a user communicates the solution I've found - which is fine for a file once in a while, but not with habitual use, a moderator says that Microsoft is to blame, another states that the file is a Searchable image and that this is the expected behavior of Acrobat. Another - like me - says that with Pro XI it never happened (never! - I add....).
So ? What's the answer? In the meantime I look like an incompetent.
