Question

Sorting Bookmarks chronologically

Hi,

I'm trying to find a way to navigate large PDF files. Content needs to be viewed chronologically, but the pages cannot  be moved.

My plan is to bookmark the pages by date of content as the PDF is reviewed.

Is there any way to then sort the bookmarks chronologically in the navigation pain?

This is a large project where hundreds of thousands of pages need to be viewed in a specific order not replicated in the document, by probably 7 or so different people at different points in the process. I need a reliable solution.

I know how to sort manually, but many of the documents will have a large number of pages to bookmark, so automating any part of it would be a huge win.

Assuming you mean to sort them by a date in the bookmarks' names (and not by the actual date on which they were created, which is not possible), this can be achieved using a script, like this (paid-for) tool I've developed: https://www.try67.com/tool/acrobat-sort-bookmarks
