Specialized PDF Printer Software Needed

I run a small accounting business (four employees).  In the past we purchased a cheap PDF software called "DocuDesk" that allowed us to print from any application to a PDF format ... BUT ... what was different about this software was that when you selected print to PDF, it gave you the option to prepend and append to that same document.  So, for example, let's say I'm creating an audit report.  I open a Word doc. with my cover page, print to PDF, and name the PDF file "audit report".  Then I open an Excel file with my audit, print to PDF, and when I select print to PDF, I have the option to prepend or append to that same "audit report" PDF file I just created -- creating one single PDF file with pages from multiple sources.  It doesn't matter if I'm using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, an internet browser, QuickBooks or Sage 50 accounting -- whatever application I wish to use to print to PDF, I can select to prepend or append pages to another existing PDF document and create one nice, neat PDF file.  This eliminates the need for us to create multiple files or having to physically print, organize and scan document pages to get it into one file for our clients (which is extremely important since the majority of our work is done at the client site -- and we don't always have access to printers/scanners).

Which Adobe product does this?  I can't find documentation of this anywhere.  --  Thanks!

To fully answer your question, there is no “PDF printer” that is part of Adobe Acrobat that allows one to concatenate a new PDF file to an existing PDF file.

Obviously, within Acrobat itself you can combine existing PDF files together after the fact.

You also have the ability to create PDF files from some limited applications as a single batch but certainly not a browser, QuickBooks, or Sage50 from which you are printing to PDF and for which Acrobat has no direct linkages for PDF creation.

Hi terri7691,

If you referring to create a single PDF from different file formats, you will either need Adobe PDF Pack FAQ | Adobe PDF Pack

or Adobe Acrobat DC  Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Acrobat DC for that.

You may also refer these help documents for more information:

If you wish, you can also use the free trial version of Acrobat DC to see if it provides the feature you require.

You can download the trial from here: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC

Check if this answers you query.

Let us know if you have any questions.
