spinning wheel when printing

Question

Every time I try to print from Adobe Pro using the desktop app (Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.2), I get a spinning wheel. The document never prints and I have to force quit the application. I uninstalled/reinstalled and now I am able to print sometimes but not consistently. When I first try to print, Acrobat Distiller opens and then the document prints successfully. After attempting to print two or three more documents or even open another pdf file, I get the spinning wheel and have to force quit Adobe and quite Distiller. Then, printing will work for a few more files before repeating the process. Any help on how to fix would be appreciated. Thank you.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
