Split View Vertical - How to open my main file so it's on the left side

I have to compare files side by side and the best way I found to do that is to open them by using the Split View and choosing vertical.  Is there a way to have my main file I'm looking at open on the left side of the screen everytime?  I know I can do this by manually moving it over, but it's unwieldy and takes up time.  Is there a secret setting somewhere that I can check that will let me do this?  Thank you.

To split the view of the PDF vertically or horizontally, please open the PDF with Acrobat and go to the Window tab > Split as shown in the screenshot below:

Thank you for your response. But, is there a way to make sure the number 1 file I'm working on opens on the left side of the screen?  Whenever I split the view with several files, they end up arranged in a random order on the screen.  Then, I need to spend time trying to maneuver them around manually, which can be a bit difficult with several files.  

 

Also, I noticed when I go back to the number 1 file and go to Window > Cascade, I would expect that file to be first in the cascade, and sometimes it is, sometimes it's the number 2 file that is shown first.  Is the system designed to randomly pick a file to be first?  Any work arounds to get the number 1 file to always be first?  Thank you!
