Strikethrough

Friends,

I am looking for a way to use the keyboard shortcuts to make highlighted text strikethrough inside the form fields. I have enabled the form fields to "Rich Text" and strikethrough text can be pasted into the form field as strikethrough, but I would like a more user friendly method such as a shortcut. Any suggestions? The shortcuts for Bold, Italics and Underline all work in Adobe Acrobat X Pro. CTRL + B, CTRL + I, CTRL + U.

I tried setting the shortcut for strikethrough to ALT + SHIFT + S as this link suggested in Word. Still the shortcut didn't work in Adobe Acrobat.

I'm using MS Windows XP and Adobe Acrobat X Pro.Thanks.

Strikethrough and others (i.e. Bold, Italics) can be found in the Adobe Acrobat X Pro by selecting CTRL + E to bring up (See attached screen shot) the "Form Field Text Properties" bar.

Or under the "View">"Show/Hide">"Toolbar Items">"Properties Bar".

Furthermore Italics, Bold, Underline, Superscript and Subscript and be found by highlighting the text in a form field clicking on the right mouse button and selecting "Text Style".

If anyone knows how to add the "Form Field Text Properties" bar to my standard tool bar so the option are always available when I open Acrobat please let me know.

This is very simple. Let me show you. On Adobe Acrobat X, on the upper right hand side click on "Comment"

and there you go you will find this icon where you can right click and choose "Add to Quick Tools" so that you can easily access this strike through icon should you need to use it again.

THAT'S IT YOU'RE DONE!

Thank you so much for the clear and concise instructions. It works and is much less of a hassle than any of the other advice!!!

I was having the same problem in finding the strike through feature.  HIGHLIGHT THE TEXT, RIGHT CLICK, CHOOSE STRIKE THROUGH.  GAWD........ NO FANCY SHIT "rich-text blah blah blah"

Ok, .....I have the properties bar but still see no obvious way to create the strike through. (?)

What you posted does not show the properties bar.

Ok then I'm *really* stumped. I followed the comments above to a tee (CTRL + E, ...and also "View">"Show/Hide">"Toolbar Items">"Properties Bar") and the only thing that changed when I cliked on the properties bar was I got this little pop up window below. Could it be bec I have Acrobat XI Pro instead of just X Pro?

.....Thanks
