Question

sudden increase of diverse bugs on Acrobat

It's been around 10 to 15 days now that more and more bugs suddenly have shown up when using Acrobat: different kinds of freezes/reaction delays and outright malfunctions (inserting comments into pdf-Files: exact location cannot be selected any more; selecting color for typing/adding content is blocked or e.g. showing blue when actually red was selected). My latest "delightful" happend just now: typing in comment, cursor is moving, letters are invisible!). My mental health is fine but I think Acrobat is trying to drive me crazy.

Half of my office is having the same issue.  Repairing didn't help.  Uninstall/reinstall didn't help either.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with multiple new issues all at once — freezes, delays, incorrect colors, and now invisible text while typing. These aren’t expected behaviors, and you’re definitely not imagining them.

Here are a few things that you can try:

  • Adobe has pushed a few fixes recently. Please update the Acrobat application to the latest version 25.01.20997 from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once and see if that works.
  • You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/4rO8SK9 and check.

For the invisible text while typing, please go to Acrobat Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Accessibility > under document color options > Custom colors, make sure that the Page background is set to 'White Color' and Document text is set to 'Black Color'  > Click OK and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work, please share a sample PDF file and a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as It occurs so we can get this checked further.

Let us know how it goes.
