If it really was a PDF file, just by opening it the vectors for attack are extremely rare and extremely difficult to implement (that's not to say they don't exist, though). A more common method of attack is to send a file that pretends to be a PDF, but is actually something like, like an executable.

If you want to change your passwords you can do so, of course, just to be on the safe side...
