Tabloid duplex short edge flip not working

Hi all. I create a pro bono monthly newsletter (InDesign,) and have for many years. Most are emailed via pdf attachment but I normally print about 4 newsletters for some folks that do not use email. I updated to a Mac Mini this past month so all of my CC apps have updated. Today when I try to print my 4 newsletter copies, as I have done for years with "flip on short edge," side 2 is upside down. My quick fix to get the job done was to rotate all side 2 pages in Acrobat 180º but would like to get to the heart of the problem if possible. I HATE wasting paper, ESPECIALLY Tabloid! Anyone else have the issue or are there any fixes?

@mariajean personally, I wouldn't 'flip on short side' — If you want a newsletter (like a book), you should be using Portrait orientation. However, the screenshot shows the Landscape icon is selected in the Page Setup dialog (upper screenshot). Honestly, if you set the orientation to Portrait in both the Page Setup and the Print Dialog, the "Flip on short edge" command should work correctly.

Hi @creative explorer and thank you for taking the time to respond. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see how either 'flip on short side' or "set the orientation to Portrait" could work, I've attached an updated print dialog screen capture with those settings to visually clarify.

My Acrobat document consists of 17" x 11" pages created by printing 2, 8.5" x 11" InDesign pages as spreads. Nothing "portrait" about the resulting Acrobat page. If my original settings were incorrect then manually rotating the 17" x 11" side 2 pages 180º in the Acrobat file would not have worked, right? Also, this has worked for me for the last 5-6 years. When troubleshooting hardware and software I always try to look at what is has changed first and not what has stayed constant. That said, my "technique" for accomplishing the job has not changed but my hardware and software has. 1 additional point is that I'm not exacty sure what manages the "flip" function, my printer or Acrobat… Hope this clarifies and look forward to your reply as I would like to get to the bottom of this before the next newsletter in January. I believe this is a bug.
