Question

Tag panel issues (Mac)

I have been experiencing odd behavior with the tags panel. It seems to only effect Mac. I do a lot of PDF remediation with Acrobat Pro DC and occasionally I get files that behave very strangely. First, some files crash instantly after clicking the shortcut to open the tags panel. It's not every file, but the files that have the issue behave this way consistantly. The same file when opened on windows does not experience this issue.

The second issue is also a mac specific issue where occasionally some tags will appear empty. The content is tagged correctly, But the text node will appear to be empty, and will not show the purple border around the content when the tag is focused. Again, my windows computer does not have a problem.

In my effort to test and correct the issue, I have uninstalled/reinstalled Acrobat, checked permissions, as well as saved a duplicate version of the file onto a new disk. This occasionally solves the problem but not always.

My Mac OS build is 10.14.6 Mojave. I would like to update to the latest OS, but can't at this time due to incompatability with software that is required for my day-today job activities.

Any known conflicts? Bugs? Workarounds? etc?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Pakram,

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, you are experiencing some issues with the tag panel on Mac.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC installed? To check the version of the application please  use the help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

Make sure you have the latest version 19.21.20061 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates. For more information, you may please use the help article: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

As it is the issue with some specific files, please try to recreate the files by doing save as with different file name and check.

Please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012) and try opening the files there and check.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

I am using the latest version. Specificcally (2019.021.20061) As stated in the original post, I have reinstalled Acrobat as part of my troubleshooting process.

Also as stated in original post, occasionally (very infregquently) saving a new file will solve the issue. Most of the time it does not. Again, none of me windows computers experience these issues at all.

Regarding permissions, the files have read & write permissions for everyone.
