Question

Take A Snapshot in the new toolbar

I have Pro 2025.001.21288 for Mac. I use the Take a Snapshot function all the time and the icon which I had set up for my old toolbar is gone in the radical redesign.  Rather than fumble for Take a Snapshot function under the Edit menu, I was wondering if there was a way to put it in the side toolbar.  I simply can’t find it under the new customizations.  Thanks.

In the new Acrobat Pro 2025 redesign, Take a Snapshot is not available for adding to the toolbar or side panel. Adobe removed it from the customizable tools list.

    Workarounds:

    • Use the shortcut:
Edit > Take a Snapshot then drag to capture

    • Faster way: press Shift + Command + 4 (macOS screenshot tool) which is often quicker

    • Or switch to Classic UI (if available in your version) where the toolbar can still show it

Right now there is no native way to pin Snapshot back to the toolbar in the new interface.

This is a bit off topic, but you can hit command + shift + 4 on a Mac to take a screen shot, this will save an image to your desktop, to save the image to your clipboard, hit command + shift + 5, then Options> clipboard.

You can disable “new Acrobat” under the View menu.

… at least for now, while Adobe works on filling all the gaps that the new UI has.
