text box causing grief

i have noticed since a recent update that when i create a text box in acrobat using the text box tool i cannot type text into it. its almost like it turns into the rectangle tool which doesnt allow for text. i have to delete the supposed text box and create a second text box and then i can put text into it. i thought it was just operator error till it kept happening. and then a coworker said it happens to him too. any idea what is going on here?

We are sorry for the trouble and the experience. As described you are not able to type in the first get box created.

 

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If its a file specific issue please share the file with us for testing.

 

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC 
Make sure you have the latest version 20.006.20042 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

 

You may also try to repair the installation (For Windows Only) Go to Help  > Repair Installation and see if that helps.

 

If it still doesn't work, please try the following steps
