text box has fillable text in center - not top left

I want to be able to send a form and have people with adobe reader type in the box.  I have added  text box from "prepare form" yet the text shows up in the center of the page not at the top left where I first draw the text box.    Thank you for any help.  On a side note - does anyone know why my images are blacked out when I open my pdf with the free reader? Is there a way to prevent this?

Regarding the images: Make sure that the "Show large images" option is ticked under Edit - Preferences - Page Display.

This is a user setting, though. You can't change it for the user from your file. The best you can do is inform them of it and ask them to make sure it's ticked, so they could view the file correctly.

If you want the field to be multiline, select that option on the Options tab of the field properties dialog. For single line fields, you can set the alignment to Left, as opposed to Center.

Thank you so much! I could not figure out why it was only allowing typing into 1 line through the middle of the box! I finally saw the option you mentioned.
