Hello, I am finding that after combining multiple documents (which look fine on their own) some of my text is turning into symbols. All font is the same, just different sizes and some bold. This is in Windows and using Adobe Pro. The document in question is from Tax Software so we dont have any ability to change its fonts etc.

Hi @jessicad69405500,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind sharing the files with me (the individual and the combined file) to test this in-house and investigate further?

You can share the files over a private message. To do so, click my profile name followed by the blue "Send Message" button on the next page.

Also, is this just with specific to the files generated through the tax software or is this related to every other file? From the screenshot, it seems like the fonts in question are not installed in the computer, thus resulting in the issue.

Please ensure you are on the latest version of Acrobat (2025.001.2043x) for the best experience.

To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Souvik.

When you combine pdfs, Acrobat tries to consolidate the used fonts, if one of the pdf has unembedded fonts, Acrobat might replace the fonts incorrectly. Try running an embed fonts preflight, before combining the pdfs. Tools> Print production> Preflight.
