Text Disappearing but comes back

Question

One of my colleagues is having issue with a PDF when using Acrobat.

She has text written in a text box. If she clicks into a different text box, the information she typed into the original text box disappears. If she goes back and clicks in the original text box, the information reappears.

When she goes to print the pdf, the information does not come through on the printed version as well.

What do I do?

I have contacted our IT department, but they do not know what the issue is as well.

This seems to have fixed the issue. The font was not set at auto, but I just changed the size of the font and then the box appeared when we were in other boxes. Thank you!

This sounds like the text field's appearance settings may be causing it. The fact that the text comes back when you click the field, but disappears when you move to another field, is a good clue.

If you have Acrobat Pro and can edit the form, try All tools > Prepare a form, then right-click the affected text field > Properties > Appearance. Check the font size and try setting it to a fixed size instead of Auto. This has fixed similar cases where entered text was only visible while the field had focus.

Also check Properties > General and make sure the field is set to Visible, not Visible but doesn't print. Adobe lists that as a separate field setting.

If only certain fields have the problem, I would compare their properties with a field that works normally. The exact Acrobat version and whether this is a fillable form created by your company or downloaded from somewhere would also help narrow it down.
