Question

Text Edits appear on every page of my pdf

I have a PDF in acrobat pro that I have been editing with text boxes, however, the text box appears on every page rather than just the one I am trying to edit. Do I have a certain setting activated or is this a glitch?

Hi @charlie_2372,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

In case you are still looking for a solution, you can check for the below suggestions:

Check if the Text Box is Part of a Header/Footer or Watermark:

  • Sometimes text boxes are added through the Header & Footer or Watermark tools, which can apply the same text or element to every page in the document.

To check if this is the case:

  • Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Go to Tools > Edit PDF.
  • Check if you are working in the Header & Footer or Watermark section.
    • If you're adding text to a header or footer, it will appear on all pages.
  • To remove it, click Tools > Header & Footer > Remove to delete any global headers/footers applied to the document.
  • Similarly, if a Watermark was added, go to Tools > Edit PDF > Watermark > Remove to clear the watermark.

Check If You're Using a Shared Form Field:

  • If the text box is part of a form field, such as a text field that is copied across multiple pages, it will appear on each page of the document.
  • To check for form fields, go to Tools > Prepare Form.
  • If the text box is a part of the form fields, you may need to edit the properties of the field or move it to only appear on the page you're working on.

Hope this helps.
