the first number I add to a form isn't included in the total

I've created a form with several lines for adding numbers.
below them is a TOTAL and a TAX line, followed by a Total with Tax line.
the first number I add (doesn't matter which line I add it on) is added in the TOTAL and the TAX fields, but not the TOTAL with Tax fields (which is just TOTAL+TAX in the calculation field).
how can I made this work properly?
