Question

The font size for emf figure becomes smaller after creating PDF from Acrobat Plugin

Hi,

I have some emf figures in word document, which when I convert the word document into pdf using acrobat pro plugin, the font size becomes smaller (probably superscript as there are more spacing underneath the text).

                                             Image as seen in word

Image after conversion to pdf using the acrobat pro plugin

If I use the 'save as pdf' from the save option, there will not be such a problem but the emf figures will become ordinary image (bitmap I guess).

How should I solve it if I want to use the create pdf plugin to convert my word document into pdf?

Many thanks

Save as uses Microsoft's code.

EMF always did pose problems. I stopped using those in Word a while ago. Unfortunately the only good method, I found to put vector graphics in Word without blowing up everything is to insert PowerPoint graphs.

Word is a real problem when it comes to typesetting. I've done once in my life the typesetting for a booklet in Word. I won't do that again, because of all the problems you get with that. We did it in Word, to allow the "ordinary" people to modify the data. But it bounced anyway back to us, either because they blew up the formatting or the operation was to complex for them. The biggest problem were the graphics in all forms. We concluded that it was best to transform all graphics to PNG files before inserting.

Hi Linj,

As you are converting a Word file to PDF, please confirm if it is an issue with the particular document.

Please try once the following steps while creating the PDF from Acrobat plugin.

- Go to Acrobat ribbon and select the Preferences.

- In the conversion Settings, select High-Quality Print from the drop-down list.

- Click OK at the bottom of the Adobe PDF maker window.

- Then create PDF from the Word document.

Let us know if that makes any difference.

If that does not help, would it be possible to share the document with us either here on the forum or in a private message How Do I Send Private Message

You can share the file with us using the steps provided here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

We will be waiting for your response.
