The latest Acrobat Reader update is not a success!
As a teacher I use Acrobat Reader a lot to annotate texts and diagrams in class that I project on the board.
Since the last update three problems have appeared:
- before I could insert text on dotted lines for example and the software kept the font size in memory but now this is no longer the case. In fact, the software searches for the best way to insert the text and adapts its format each time and it is often too small so I have to systematically change the size, it is very painful.
- Before I could insert text anywhere on a document including an image. Now the software looks for the appropriate place and if it's in the middle of an image it very often refuses to insert text there. So I have to insert it further and then move it.
- From now on the software keeps in memory what we have typed and if we start to type text it makes suggestions based on our old texts to avoid us having to rewrite everything. In my opinion, this is of no interest (if you want to avoid copying, a simple Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are there) and in my situation this poses a problem. Indeed if I had a class with which I completed a document, if I use the same document with another class all the correct answers appear which is not practical in my case.
In short, you will have understood, the old formula was much more practical for me. I imagine that innovation is inevitable and that you must constantly propose "improvements" but could you leave the possibility of deactivating these new features?
Sincerely
Jean-Yves
