The October 2019 Update Now Won't Let Me Select Multiple Form Fields

I just found this problem today. When I try to select multiple fields by selecting an area on the page, Adobe switches to the new text edit mode instead, and the fields can no longer be selected.

I'm able to select multiple fields by clicking on the top field on the page, pressing the Shift key, and then selecting the last field on the page. However this method is not all that reliable because I can't select all of the fields I need each time. An in my specific scenario it's actually useless since I normally deal with hundreds of form fields in all kinds of files.

Is anyone else seeing the new problem? Any ideas on a workaround, or how to disable the new text edit mode in the form editor?

Thanks. That worked for me. Though I am certainly not happy with the implementation of this.

I have the same problem. Unfortunatly I have not found a workaround yet.

This is a real issue for me as I am often called on to make batch changes to fields.

I think I just found a workaround. When you being to select your fields, click anywhere outside the bounds of the page, and then drag your selection square onto the page. It seems that if you click on the page while it's in form edit mode, adobe switches it to text-edit mode. So the trick is to not click on the page, but just click outside of it.
