Thanks for reaching out. As described above, you are experiencing issues while opening the PDF file and getting the error 'there was an error opening this document. the file is damaged and could not be repaired', correct?

The web browsers use their own Acrobat Plug-in to view the PDFs online, thus you are able to open it on Chrome or Internet Explorer.

Usually the conflict originates from how those PDFs were created and that is where most of the problems come from. It could be created from an older version of Acrobat, someone could have used an online converter that produce a bad copy of the PDF, the converter tools on Acrobat could be damaged in some way.

However, since you have already tried the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html without any success. Please check for any missing updates and try updating the application. Go to Help > Check for Updates. Also try to repair installation (For windows only) Go to Help > Repair Installation. reboot the computer and check if that helps
