Question

Thicker lines at print time

Hi

I have a user that prints her AutoCAD drawings to PDF via Acrobat DC

When she prints the PDF files the lines appear thicker on the print out

The same file printed directly to the printer from AutoCAD prints out fine

The same PDF file printed from her colleagues' workstations prints out comparatively fine aswell

She is running Windows 7 64bits, AutoCAD 2018, Adobe Creative suite

I removed the SHARP print driver and then reinstalled it : same result

I uninstalled the Acrobat Reader XI and installed the latest version of Acrobat Reader DC : same result

I'm stumped, any ideas or suggestions ?

Thanks

yann

Yes Abambo, colour PDF printed in B&W

After further tests, we have come to realize that this issue only occurs when printing the PDF in colour mode

If we choose to print it in B&W all the lines appear normal on the print out

Look into the advanced settings of the print dialogue. If print as image is on, put it off.

See also here for explanations on what could happen. Please note that this user had the contrary problem: Re: Adobe pdf prints are lighter than when I print in AutoCAD

Thanks Abambo

That option is actually off

Concerning your link we have the exact opposite scenario

I will check if one can adjust the setting in the other direction

But if we reduce the line width in Acrobat Pro this will affect all PDF file production

I reduced the value to 1.0 but the result is still the same
