Been on the 'net for about an hour trying to make this error go away.  ALLOWED access to all URLs.  Even turned OFF Advanced Security.  Haven't found the answer.  (Acrobat DC).

Have a PDF with hyperlinks converted from MS Word.  The hyperlinks refer to files IN THE SAME DIRECTORY, with some in subdirectories.  Most are PDF files themselves.  Currently on an SD card.  I want to be able to give copies of the SD card to OTHERS and NOT have ANY problems opening the links.  Cannot for the life of me, figure out why the hyperlinks are SO hard to follow.  I don't want recepients to have the same problems as I am having.  Evidently this is an ISSUE on Acrobat READER as well.

How can I make these error codes go away and allow users to open the hyperlinks without encountering errors?  They will mostly be using Acrobat READER, I'm sure.  Can I bulletproof the files?

How did you convert the file from Word to PDF? What command did you use?

You can set those links in Acrobat instead of Word, and then they should work correctly.

Converted file from Word using Acrobat DC on my computer. I used the ACROBAT command on my Word ruler and created a file.  I didn't use Acrobat to set the links because Acrobat makes EVERYTHING so very hard to do.  Much easier to edit in Word.

You didn't say anything about the error message and how to fix it.

The message means the links attempt to access the files as URLs, instead of file-links. It might have to do with how they were set up in Word, but there's no way to fix it automatically in Acrobat once the file us created. You would need to fix them manually, re-do them or use an external tool to edit their actions.
