Hi @ta_bernakle

Sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you for bringing up this issue with Pantone colors not converting to CMYK in Adobe Acrobat. I understand how frustrating it can be when your workflow is interrupted by unexpected issues, especially when working with specific color standards like Pantone. I’d be happy to assist you with this!

Could you provide more details about your process? For instance:

  • Are you using Acrobat to convert colors in a PDF directly, or are you exporting from another Adobe application, such as InDesign or Illustrator?
  • What settings or tools are you using to manage the conversion?
  • Do you notice this issue with specific Pantone shades, or does it happen across the board?

In the meantime, here are some general tips to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Check the Output Preview Tool: Use Acrobat’s Output Preview (under Print Production tools) to verify if the colors are defined as Pantone or CMYK in your PDF.
  2. Ensure Proper Color Conversion Settings: When converting colors in Acrobat, make sure you’ve configured the conversion profile correctly under Print Production > Convert Colors.
  3. Export with Color Profiles from Source Applications: If the PDF was generated in an application like InDesign, ensure the correct Pantone-to-CMYK conversion settings are applied during export.
  4. Update Acrobat: Ensure you’re using the latest version of Acrobat, as updates often fix color processing issues.

If the issue persists, please share a bit more detail, and we can explore additional troubleshooting steps or a possible workaround.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
