Question

Tools menu reverting to default options

I have a custom tool set up, as well as a custom setup of the tools options on the right of the screen in Acrobat. Lately that menu keeps reverting to all the default options, and I have to manually open the Tools menu to find my custom one (which still exists, it's just removed from the menu). I am definitely signed in, that was the first thing I checked. Yesterday I rearranged everything as it should be, and today I open Acrobat and the default Tools are back again. Any ideas?

Hi @VCS-Marketing

Thank you for reporting this to us.

We are in discussion with our engineering team about the same issue. To further investigate this, we'd be required some more details from you:

1- Exact version of Acrobat and OS

2- Is this issue with some virtualized environments where settings are not getting retained?

3-  Sharing the Fiddler logs will help here. (How to collect the fiddler log, will share the steps in a private message)

4. The silent application crash might have caused the reset.

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha, thanks for your reply.

1. I am on Acrobat Pro Version 2022.003.20322 and Windows 11 Pro, Build 22621.1265.

2. No, this is on a laptop where I am the only user, and no other Adobe logins are used.

3. I will send you the Fiddler log in response to your message.

4. Noted, I will try that.
