Good morning,

I have a copy of Abobe Pro X on a computer that I am going to reinstall windows on. I can't seem to locate the serial number. I want to try reinstalling Windows however if that doesn't remedy the issues I am having I am going to get a new laptop. I want to transfer the product to that computer if that happens. I had already transferred the product to the computer I am working on currently. Please let me know how I can locate the serial number if I don't have the original packaging that came with the product years ago.

Thanks,

you have 3 ways to recover a serial number that you once had:

1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,

    a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com

    b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)

2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:)  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

using a browser that allows popups and cookies,  contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'chat', http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-ccm.html

If you registered it will be in your account details. Registering is a good thing.

Thanks, I have tried to register it several times now and every time I try it gives me a message: Could not register your product at this time. Try again later.

I think it's too old and they want me to buy a new one!
