Are you using Acrobat X? If so, what's your OS version of Office version?

Also, what exact version of Acrobat are you using (look under Help - About Adobe Acrobat to find it out)?

I use Acrobat Pro 10.1.16 and Word 2007 in Windows 10. The problem isn’t visible in the files, which show the Word file correctly transferred into a .PDF for booklet printing. The problem is that some of the 25 pages spec. 1-6, 20-23 and 25 have page number two centimeters below the top of the paper, while the remaining pages the distance is 6 millimeters. The page bottoms are correspondingly differently sized. The problem is not printer specific. I use a Canon MX 922 and a HP LaserJet 1215.

How are you converting from Word to PDF? Are you suing Adobe Acrobat, or are you using Word's own PDF export function?
