Trouble printing PDF's that were created in AutoCAD

In my normal workflow, I create PDF files in AutoCAD that are blueprint size (D), then I add comments in Adobe Acrobat DC, and then use Acrobat DC to print a PDF that makes the comment part of the file.  I have done this for years, but lately I get errors that the PDF could not be printed.

I spent time last week with Adobe Support and they told me it was because the files were created in AutoCAD.  They added a patch of some sort and said it would work.  It worked for 3 days and then reverted to the error issues.

I finally got a print to work today by turning the resolution down to 144 dpi.  Is there another solution to this problem?  Do other softwares like Bluebeam work better with AutoCAD created PDF files?
