Trouble with custom fixup

I've been trying to figure out how to make a custom fixup.

I've watched a few vidoes, but can't get it to work.

I'm trying to create a fixup that will allow me to make registration marks and color (100%C 100%Y 100%M 100%K) convert to 100% K only. I'm being charged color clicks on my machine for black pages that have all printer registration marks and color bars. I can't tell the fiery to only print black, because it then prints the color covers as black....so If I can make a custom fixup to convert Registration to 100% black, I think this will solve my issue. Thanks.

Hi @Jordan_Garren7838,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

You can try the below steps:

  1. Open Preflight

    • In Acrobat Pro, go to Tools > Print Production > Preflight.

  2. Create a Custom Fixup

    • In the Preflight window, click on the Wrench icon (Fixups tab).

    • Click Options (top-right) and select Create Fixup.

  3. Set Up the Color Conversion

    • Under Fixup Category, choose Colors.

    • Select "Map color" as the fixup type.

  4. Define the Color Conversion Rules

    • Click Add Mapping and set:

      • Source Color Space: CMYK

      • Condition: "All objects with this color"

      • Cyan (C): 100%

      • Magenta (M): 100%

      • Yellow (Y): 100%

      • Black (K): 100%

    • In the Convert to section, set:

      • Cyan (C): 0%

      • Magenta (M): 0%

      • Yellow (Y): 0%

      • Black (K): 100%

  5. Save and Apply

    • Name the fixup something like "Convert Registration to Black".

    • Click OK, then Apply it to your document.

This should ensure that registration marks and any 100% CMYK objects are converted to 100% K, avoiding unnecessary color clicks.

Let me know if you need further assistance!

Hi @Jordan_Garren7838 ,

Can you share more details about the expectation and requirement here? Does this existing fixup not solve the problem ?

You can also refer : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/correcting-problem-areas-preflight-tool.html for any help around how to edit or create custom fixup.
