Trouble with form elements - sizing and spacing

Hello! I am creating a form with many check boxes. I trying to size and space the checkboxes evenly. I highlight the boxes, then click the "Distribute Horizontally" icon but nothing happens. Same when I try to resize the checkboxes to match the anchor by clicking "Match Height and Width" icon. This tool does not seem to be working for me, but I don't know what I am doing wrong. I've even gone in and opened the properties for each box to try to get it to the size but it won't change. The spacing remains uneven. I've made sure they aren't locked. Please help.

Size and space between them is not the same thing... To achieve the former go to Prepare Form mode, select all the fields (by dragging an area around them with the mouse, or Ctrl+Click them), then right-click the one that has the size you want the others to have and select Set Fields To Same Size - Both. After doing that you can center them, and then distribute them. See attached video.
