Trying to format area code to be (505).

Trying to format area code to be (505). I need  ( + 3 numbers + )  Tried (999) but it doesn't work.  I'm guessing that the leading '(' is whats messing it up.  Any help answering this question is greatly appreciated.

"(999)" should work just fine as the custom arbitrary mask... What happens when you enter "555" into the field?

OK I figured out what I did wrong.  As a lesson to others who may have similar issues.  The problem arose because I had a limit of 3 characters set on the "Options" Tab.  As soon as I unchecked this option and put the mask of "(999)" it worked.  Lesson learned....
