Trying to use Topaz Sig Pad to capture live signature - signature field not working

I have a Topaz Sig pad, and I would like to capture live signatures into a PDF. I cannot get the signature field to work properly. It recognizes it as a text field when I preview my form. I did install the plugin for the sig pad, but I have yet to be able to try it due to this issue with the signature field.
