Question

turn PDF page from landscape A4 to the LHS of a landscape A3?

I have a PDF file with one A4 landscape file and one A3 landscape file. I want to change the first page into A3 and have the (A4) content not scaled but rotated counterclockwise and placed on the LHS of that A3. Can I do that with Acrobat?

It would probably be easier to place the PDF pages into InDesign and do the re-sizing and positioning there, then export to a new PDF.

You can use the Acrobat Preflight Fixups to change the page sizes and rotations, and use the Organize tool to move pages around, but I would use InDesign.

So, how do I do this in Acrobat? I don't want InDesign in the work flow as I don't know what kind of things it will do to the PDF. Too high a risk. If I have to use another tool, I'd probably use pdfTeX.

The risk of unexpected results from using InDesign is low, IMHO.

To use Acrobat, go to Tools> PrintProduction> Preflight> Fixups (blue wrench icon)> Pages.

Select one of the existing preflights and click FIX to apply it to the desired page. You can also duplicate an existing preflight and edit it to change the settings.

As for combining two pages, I'm not sure how to do that, although you can set the initial display settings to show two pages side by side.
