Turning Off Popup Helper Menus

Hi, longtime subscriber here with a simple question. I have to extract a LOT of numbers from an Acrobat file, which means selecting a lot of content. My question is, how do I turn off the helpful menu that pops up whenever I select something? It's driving me crazy, and it blocks the work. I've looked all through preferences and can't find an off switch. Thank you!
