Question

Unable to change default name on comments --Acrobat DC

In the last month, a few people in our department have had their default user name change to something other than their previously saved preferred names. One person had her name revert to a name she has not used for years, and another person has his last name now repeating on every comment. We have tried saving new default names, deselecting the "always use login name", and even uninstalling and reinstalling adobe. It seems to be an adobe glitch. Each time, it will change only for the one note, then revert back despite clicking "use as default" and saving. Does adobe have a fix for this? It is more than a simple annoyance. People need the ability to use their preferred names.

If a normal un/reinstall does not work, I would recommend that you use the Adobe Cleaner: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Hopefully this will reset everything back to how it is supposed to work.

I think we dowload our adobe acrobat pro from the creative cloud, and this says it cannot be used on that type of product.

"The tool cannot be used with any Creative Cloud products or Acrobat delivered with CS products. It can only be used for standalone versions of Acrobat and Reader."
