Question

Unable to install Adobe Acrobat 10.0 Standard

I had Adobe Acrobat 10.0 Standard (purchased and licensed) installed and fully working on my Windows11 Pro PC.

Recently, I replaced the motherboard due to a hardware problem with the old motherboard.

After this hardware change, the software Adobe Acrobat 10.0 Standard refuses to work. I keep getting a pop-up asking for the license key.

When the license key is entered it results in a message stating license key not valid!

Whereas this is a genuine license key with software license certificate 8837856.

How can I make the software to install and work normally as before the motherboard change?

Thank you in advance for any help in this regard.

Unfortunately, the activation servers for Acrobat X were shut down last November. That’s why your license key is being rejected as you try to re-install the software on your system.

If you want to continue using acrobat, you’ll need to upgrade to either the Subscription model for Acrobat DC or obtain a 3-year license for the stand-alone software from Adobe Systems.

Wish I had better news for you,

    Hello Randy,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I understand.

However, the software was working fine until end February 2026 without any license related issue or registration pop-up!

The pop-up message to register started only after I changed the motherboard of my PC.

Anyway, I prefer to continue with my software Adobe Acrobat 10.0 Standard, which is for personal use.

Could you please also help me with how to obtain the 3-year license from Adobe Systems. I am not able to locate any option/link to do so.

Thank you again for your support.

I understand your disappointment. But when you changed your motherboard, you replaced the processor, and BIOS, and the hardware ID information that identifies it as another computer. Adobe identifies that as a brand new system because it essentially is.

It’s hard for me to illustrate how to get the three-year license because I have a subscription version of Acrobat. But if you Google “Adobe Acrobat three-year license” you will see options from Adobe Systems for how to obtain Acrobat Pro 2024, which provides a three-year license with security upgrades.

    Hope this helps,
