Unable to print to PDF

I thought this was an issue printing to PDFs in AutoCAD, but when I tried in in word, I have the same problem.  Here's what I have: Windows 7, Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0.  When I try to print to a PDF in word, it shows the printer, but when I hit "print", it just doesn't a PDF.  When i open the printer spool, it shows the document with "error-printing"  I would appreciate any thoughts.  Thanks!  Dave

Acrobat 6 is absolutely incompatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP. The earliest version of Acrobat that is compatible in any way with Windows Vista or later versions of Windows is Acrobat 8.1. At this point, to use the AdobePDF PostScript printer driver instance to create PDF, you will need to license Acrobat DC.
