Question

Unable to refresh a pdf in google chrome with the acrobat extention

Hi all,

For my work I make a catalog and I put this online for our clients to use. Sometimes there is an update so I replace the newest version with the same name. The pdf can be read in the acrobat extention (if installed) Now all the clients are instructed to refresh (command R or control R) so they allways have the latest version. But in the extention from acrobat in Chrome it won't refresh. So even if there is a complete different pdf with the same name it will show the old version. Big problem. In our case it means they are shown old prices etc. If you remove the acrobat extention it works like a charm. But this means that I have to instruct everyone to remove the acrobat extention. Does anybody have experienced the same problem?

Hi J.P.P.359213172r4u,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please try clearing the cache and cookies for the browser once. See if that helps.

As mentioned, the PDF appears the same when refreshing. Does that mean the PDF is always kept open on the browser? What happens when you close the PDF and then reopen it?

Please share the screen recording to show the issue occurring on your end. Share the version details so we can replicate the behavior. We will get this behavior investigated.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,

Thanks for replying. We have tried clearing the cache and cookies, restart the browser, even the computer. Nothing helps. Upload new pdfs everything. The problem occurs on the Mac as well as PC. This problem is on the computers of clients but also in our workplace. Removing the Acrobat extention in Chrome solved the problem. But to me that is a shame because it is  a really good extention.
