Unable to register Acrobat X Pro

Hi,

I have a new PC build and I have already deactivated Acrobat on my old PC.

When I try to activate Acrobat X Pro on my new PC I am receiving the error  "this serial number has already been activated on 2 computers. You must correct this problem to continue", "launch one of the other copies of Acrobat X Pro, click on the help menu and select Deactivate…"

I have already deactivated Acrobat on my old PC so why I can't register?

Adobe disabled the activation servers for older versions of Acrobat. Unfortunately, you can't get around that and can't use it on your new machine any longer.

If the activation servers know that two computers have already been activated, then I'd say their activation servers are still active.  This implies that Adobe has chosen, unilaterally, to not honor the terms and conditions when we purchased the software.  Shameful.

I'm not sure the former is necessarily correct (there can be a register of the number of activations without the activation servers running), but I agree with the latter.
