Question

Unable to save changes to fillable documents

We're having this new problem in our office where forms that I have made fillable through Adobe Acrobat Pro are not saving. Normally I would make a form fillable, put it in the office shared folder where anyone can access it, and when someone fills a form with patient information they just hit "save as" and rename the file. A new file is created with that new information and we're able to just put it in a patient's chart. Never had a problem. Now within the past few days when someone opens one of those fillable files they input the information they need, and when they hit "save as" a new file is created under that name but the only information on it is whatever was on the original form. For example, if the fillable form is blank when opened from the shared folder, and I enter in John Doe, DOB 1/1/1000, hit save as, enter "John Doe" as the new file name, then save it, if I reopen the file named "John Doe," the form will be blank. Is this confusing to anyone or has anyone else run into these problems? Everything works fine on my computer, but I don't know if that's just because this is the computer its created on or if there's some special permission that I have to allow for changes to be made to the file. Or maybe I'm just missing something simple, and new update to either acrobat or the computer? Or maybe its their computer that's the problem? Any advice is appreciated 🙂

You need to find out what application they're using to open the file. If it's not Adobe Reader, instruct them to use it.
