Question

Unable to start Acrobat DC (Adobe Application Manager is damaged or missing)

This issue started today - I haven't changed anything with Adobe or my subscription, but I'm trying to edit a PDF with Acrobat, but I get the error "Adobe Application Manager is damaged or missing". I've used Premiere Pro for videos and guaranteed my subscription is active (school license, has worked perfectly fine previously), but it's still not working. I've reinstalled CC and replaced the OOBE folder as mentioned as a solution on this forum, but to no avail. How can I fix this issue?

Hi Jack

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to start the Adobe Acrobat DC application and getting the above mentioned error message.

Are you experiencing issue while editing a particular PDF file or is the application not starting at all? If you are able to open the application, please try to edit a different PDF file and check.

Also please logout of the application, reboot the computer once and relogin to the application and check if that works for you.

If the application is not opening at all, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html  , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/kb/acrobat-downloads.html

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
