Unable to start Adobe shared review (SharePoint)

My team extensively uses the Adobe shared review functionality on SharePoint. As of this morning, no one on my team can open a shared review. We are getting the error “Status: could not save the shared review-enabled PDF file.”

Any insight into why this is happening or how to resolve?

    Hi @Katherine23061897d5hi ,

    Thank you for reporting this.
Since the issue began suddenly and is affecting multiple users on the team simultaneously, it appears more likely to be related to authentication, connectivity, or permissions between Acrobat and SharePoint rather than to the individual PDF files.

The error “Status: could not save the shared review-enabled PDF file” typically occurs when Acrobat is unable to synchronize the shared review data back to the SharePoint location.

    We recommend trying the following:

    1. Sign out of Acrobat and sign back in

    2. Verify that users can access and edit the SharePoint location directly in a browser

    3. Clear cached Microsoft/SharePoint and Adobe credentials from the system credential manager

    4. Test creating or opening a new shared review to confirm whether the issue affects all review sessions

    5. Confirm whether any recent SharePoint security, authentication, or policy changes were introduced in your environment

If the issue persists after these checks, please let us know whether:

    • The problem affects both existing and newly created shared reviews

    • Users can manually upload/edit files in the same SharePoint location outside Acrobat

That information will help narrow down whether the issue is related to SharePoint connectivity, authentication, or Acrobat review synchronization.
