Question

Unprotecting a protected pdf

Hello,

I am editing a protected pdf and cannot get the pdf unlocked. It is unable to print as an Adobe PDF like the forums suggest. I click print to try and convert it to an adobe pdf and it says that the file is protected and an error has been found. What is the way around this? The file needs to be unprotected so it can be combined with others but Adobe will not let it be combined because of its permissions/protections.

I do not have a way to reach the pdf author to get an unprotected version.

Thank you.

CTRL - D to check document properties.  Look at the Security Tab.

If its protected, there's not much you can do. If you can print it, try printng to Adobe PDF.  Sometimes it won't even let you do that.  Work around - screenshot and save in word or blank pdf file so you can combine it.

Yeah it doesn't let me print to Adobe PDF, it says there is an error because of the protection.

I would either screenshot and past in a blank pdf or print it out and scan into your combined document.

Good  luck!
