Upgrades

Question

I have bought a new iMac running MacOS Monterey (12.7). My licensed copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional 8, that was earlier runnning on a now dead iMac with High Sierra, refuses to be installed. Is there a way of solving this without having to buy or "rent" a new program. I am mostly using it for extracting pages from or reducing size of PDF files. The free editors lack the extract function as far as I have noted.

No. You can't use older versions of Acrobat on a new Mac OS.

As correctly highlighted by our community product expert, Acrobat Pro 8 is now an end-of-life, supported product, as the support ended in 2011. See this article for more information: https://adobe.ly/433ex3l

You also won't be able to download and activate the product, as the activation servers are no longer available.

Adobe strongly recommends that customers update to the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat. By updating installations to the latest versions, customers benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures.
