Using a scanner, certain text = ignore/delete that page automatically

A script in Acrobat can be used to calculate the size of text on a page and if it exceeds a certain threshold, delete that page. However, it can only work (correctly) if the page has been OCRed, and the results of that process were good.

I would think the easiers way may be to"

1) scan all the single-sided documents, then

2) scan both sides of the double-sided documents, then

3) compiling the pages into a single PDF file. That will be a lot easier, of course, if the pages are numbered so you can see what goes where easily.

Like Gary, I think this might be one of those times where the effort to make it "easier" would more than offset the effort to get it done simply.

The driver of this scanner propably supports the option to remove blank pages while scanning but ignoring pages with certain texts is way more difficult and requires additional scan software with text recognition (OCR) and some if-then-else programming features. This is normally not doable with software for consumers but for enterprises. 

However, in Acrobat you can quite easily remove unwanted pages from a PDF in the page menu. There you have thumbnails of all pages to identify the unwanted ones. Select multiple of them by holding Ctrl pressed while clicking and the press Del to remove them. It's only a question of seconds to to this. 

I think this may be classic case of spending a lot of time looking for what would/should be an obvious time saver as opposed to just doing it manually and ending up saving a lot of time.

I do have one question for you: I do not know that scanner; does it do both-sides scanning or one side at a time. If the latter, why not just scan the all the one-sided pages and then do all the 2-sided pages? Otherwise, do them all and in "Organize Pages," toss out the 2nd page? If possible, take a pencil and make an obvious 'X" on the pages you do not want to save so it's easier to see in "Organize Pages."

Sorry, at this point in time, it cannot be done.
