Question

Using add text or text box in comments causes app to freeze.

Using the desktop version of Adobe Acrobat (continuous release version 2022.003.20310) - when adding a text comment or a text box to a document the program freezes and becomes unresponsive. Can close the document but anything that you have done is not saved.

Tried a repair - no change.

Uninstalled the program, rebooted and did a fresh install - no change.

Tried changing the default font - no change.

Any suggestions?

Hi @CoachGH

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have reported, that application started becoming unresponsive while adding comments or text. Did you experience this issue only when adding notes to the document?

Thanks for mentioning that you have already tried running the repair. Try a few add-on steps to see if that helps:

1- Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected Mode at Start-up", "Protected View," and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat [Windows only]

Note: these changes are only for testing purposes. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.

2- Try adding comments to a different file and see if the issue persists.

3- Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s files traces:

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

If it still doesn't work, then:

Please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html  share them by uploading them to cloud storage (any)

 Procmon Logs: [Windows only]

Thanks,
