Using Mac OSX 10.9.5 and cannot open ANY PDF files at all

I reintalled Acrobat Reader DC but usually I can directly open files, at the moment I cannot.

 

Any help regarding this is much appreciated

Reader DC is not compatible with your old OS version. Use Reader 11.0.10.

Since macOS 10.12 and below are no longer supported by Apple itself, it is best to upgrade the OS.
