Question

Using older Adobe to access Portfolios without flash

I know there are multiple posts on the relationship between Adobe Acrobat, Portfolios, and Flash so please bear with me as I ask a more specific question on this topic.

I'm creating a secured PDF Form, and to be able to add pages, utilizing the portfolio option is ideal as it allows adding appedices and completing a batch print (instead of having to print individually as can alternatively be done with the Attachments toolbar).

I do not have Flash on my computer, and I was able to view the Portfolio toolbar (I use the most recent Adobe Acrobat DC). However, when I sent the Portfolio to users with older Adobe Acrobat, they could not see the toolbar buttons and were prompted to download flash (which then says Flash is out of service) confusing the users.

Is Adobe planning to update the Portfolio function to no longer prompt for Flash? Is there a way to save the Portfolio to work on older versions to show the add documents button, and without prompting for Flash?

Unfortunately as this will be a far-reaching document, I cannot enforce updated Adobe use and deleting Flash (as seems to really be the most common work around from other discussions).

Any updates and discussion will be greatly appreciated.

I don't work for Adobe so I can't speak on their behalf, but I highly doubt it. They did it for the current versions, but older versions are not going to be updated for this issue (or any other issue), if they are past their EOL date.

You will need to recreate the Portfolio to do that. Save the files attached to it to the local computer, then re-combine them as a new Portfolio, and it will be created without Flash.

Re: making the portfolio locally. This is what I did on the most recent Adobe Acrobat DC however it still prompted others to download flash/wouldn't show the tools in the toolbar on their Adobe
