Question

Using Stamps

I have created and located a couple different Stanps and read all I can find but what I cant seem to accomplish is actually using them. I have perfect stamps, I have a waiting document with my perfect stamp on it... and yet I am unable to edit the stamp. For example, on my payables stamp- I am unable to enter the amount $ to be paid nor the invoice number or date.

However- I discovered as I was unable to use the stamp and removed it- my writing is UNDER the stamp. I even tried squishing (technical term) the layers first so that the stamp would actually be the PDF.

No luck no matter what I try. Can anyone help me?

Once a stamp has been applied its contents can't be edited, unless you flatten the page and then you can edit it just like any other static content (not recommended, though). What you need is a dynamic stamp with a script that will prompt you to enter the amount into a dialog window when you apply it, and then populate a text field within that stamp.

try67,

Thank you for your help. Will I be able to use the layout of my stamp as I create a dynamic stamp (haven't done that)?

And will I be able to create a field for my Superintendent to be able to sign approval once I email it to him?

- Yes.

- That depends on what kind of signature you want to use. If you're referring to a Signature field then no, as the stamp is flattened when applied. You can use an image or just text, maybe using a fancy "hand-written" font, though.
